Hi all.
Driving home the other night and I experienced the floppy gearstick syndrome.
Assumed broken gear linkage.
I've got one on order but I had a look at the gear stick and under the gaiter attached to the side of the stick there appears to be a white piece of plastic which seems to have broken off?
I would assume this will also need replacing.
Does anyone know what it's called?

This is part of the reverse select mechanism I believe, (from your description)

I don’t think it’s available separately, probably just as easy and cheap to by a replacement gear selector assembly from eBay

Isn't it the service (adjustment) locking mechanism? When not in use it is not connected to anything so might seem broken !

Just to check, as I've experienced exactly this problem, and can't tell if the white plastic is broken (I can't find a photo of an intact setup beneath the gaiter).

Has anyone identified the cause of this issue?
