Hello, please excuse any mistakes I make as I am new here and this is my first thread.
Anyway I have a 2006 GP 1.4L petrol that I bought in June/July time and have had nothing but trouble with it. It recently had a replacement engine fitted as the previous one kept spewing smoke out all the time. After a day of use the engine light came on and kept going into limp mode. The MAP sensor was changed or I was told it was the MAP sensor, it was to the left side of the engine and down a bit when you are facing the engine from the drivers front wheel. There are 2 sensors around the area and it is the lower one that was replaced. I have searched for awhile trying to find out what the top one is called and all I can find it is possibly an Air Temperature Sensor as it is fitted at the manifold. The car starts okay most of the time but when cold it will drop revs and conk out. Would the Air Temperature Sensor cause that to happen because I am running out of patience and, to be honest , money so I could really do with any advice .
I thank you in advance, best regards, Alan

What engine exactly? 8v or 16v 95hp?

MAP sensor is actually called TMAP as it integrates the air temperature sensor inside it.

The other other one is the atmospheric pressure sensor.

Both sensors must be replaced with original bosch.

Engine Control Unit (ECU) rely on two sensors to compute the actual engine temp: the coolant sensor and the air intake (TMAP). If one of them gives erroneous readings the ECU will possibly go in limp mode because of lean or rich mixture detected by the lambdas …
