hello,
not been on in a while as sold my 1.9 multijet years ago (regretted ever since) however bought a 1.2 2006 plate at the weekend (son's car when he turns 17)

Only issue I can't seem to fix is both mirrors don't adjust, I thought by replacing the 2 blown fuses may have solved this but no luck.

Got a few niggles, heater controls only working on number 4 (heat resistor already ordered) exhaust flexi pipe faulty - new centre section needed, boot lock had 1 broken pin - already replaced and thermostat housing had broken exit pipe - again already replaced. Couple of blown fuses as well.

Anyone any ideas?

Inge connector internal wire broken -> get short to ground -> blow fuse … maybe

If someone here helped You fix -or better, understand- your issue, hit the thanks icon @ bottom right corner, it's free and makes us feel helpy ;-)

Baffled ? Come-on Charlie, one just have to pull the lifter arm (clip) and the entire plug goes off the socket … Getting to the actual wires is a bit harder but still feasable ;-)

Before you get too into sorting out electric mirrors that are not working, make sure the mirrors are electric ones.

Back when I worked on automotive electrics, I had someone with a car with exactly the same problem as you, and in 30 seconds of looking at it, someone had replaced both mirrors with cheap plastic ones that looked ok but had to be adjusted by pushing the glass and had no electric motors.

I think on the Grande and other fiats with a similar mirror design you can pop off the trim bellow the mirror on the arm and access the wiring.

Also push the glass in at the window end of the mirror and gently pull the glass forward at the tip of the mirror and have a peak behind to make sure everything looks as it should (IE there be motors there.) another common fault with mirrors is the switches being relatively small and quite complex can fall apart inside if mistreated.

Do a general check of the wires connectors and plugs.

Thanks AndyRKett , i never even thought to check if they are electric. Already had checked the fuses and all okay (now) Plugs look ok but will do a double check

The drivers wing mirror is held on with tape so maybe a trip to a breakers to replace that one.
