Re: Brake disc and pad change

Pagid pads are very good and my favourite choice.
Pagid discs are also excellent.
If you need to save ús use pagid pads and use cheaper discs.
I stay away from mintex.
Recently (2000 miles ago) fitted Delphi pads and they are ok but wish had used pagid.
fitted genuine ATE pads to friends classic BMW because they were ridiculously cheap and they are excellent.
Ferodo also good.

Where do you go to get your pagid brake pads for a good price?

Re: Brake disc and pad change

Carparts4less

Eurocarparts if have a decent discount code on site and because there is one two miles from me.

eBay

Mrauto sometimes they have a wierdly cheap deal on discs priced per pair which makes buying pads from them too a good option. Eurobrake discs are fine as are Bolk discs. If ordering from mrauto make doubly sure you order the correct parts because they take a long time to process returns.

There is a motor parts vendor associated with the forum that gives discount to paid up subscribers I always forget the name , someone will pipe up with it.

Check prices with the above and pick one that suits you best.

Good luck

I am in between pagid and delphi as from my research it appears your either team pagid of team delphi. Going to do abit more research as my car has low mileage for her age and I do not drive crazy style. You wouldn't happen to know brake bedding process for pagid would u?

Re: Brake disc and pad change

Get pagid fit new discs too.
Avoid heavy braking for 200 miles then all should be good.

Re: Brake disc and pad change

I'm led to believe that Pagid are part of TMD fraction who also make Mintex & Textar parts.

I also think that Pagid are exclusively made for Europarts here in the UK. At the end of the day all brake pads should be of a certain standard & are fit for purpose. In this middle of the road/low costing brands it's really much of a muchness, some pads will wear out quicker than others.

Just for the record on my diesel hack I have Brembo slotted discs & Mintex pads fitted years ago still going strong & performing well. They cost me 75 quid at the time & I thought that was a good bargain. Personally, when it comes down to the nitty gritty fit the best yo can afford, especially so on the likes of braking & tyres.

Re: Brake disc and pad change

Never used Pagid, normally buy mintex discs and ebc ultimax pads, no complaints. If no evidence of fluid change recently I'd recommend changing that too. Comma dot 5.1 has served me well, changed with a draper easy bleed.

Cheers

Ben

As i said on the Corsa forum, get Pagid as the discs are coated so don't rust and look crap.

Re: Brake disc and pad change

At the end of the day you fit what ever you like, when you do, now is the time to inspect the calipers & make sure they are functioning properly. As said earlier bleed/change the brake fluid, when was that last done? Simple satisfying job.
