So, I've posted in a previous thread that I need to change my drop links, and I'm planning on Changing my brake pads and discs while I'm at it, what I want to ask, I'm currently on solid discs, but I see that vented discs are also available. Apart from the obvious difference in thickness, is there any difference between the solid and vented, or should I just stick with the solid discs?

You'd more likely have to replace the calipers as well and probably even the pilars... What model is your car ?

as I understand from eLearn (see edit on my first reply), the only GP with plain disks was the 1,2 8V from 10/2006 (thickness 12 vs 22mm), is that correct ?

Yes, that's the model I have, I think the safest option is to just replace like for like. That graphic is confusing me though, as my model is 2008,which according to that should have the ventilated discs, yet mine has the solid discs

Scrap what I just said, I'm confusing myself now..... Solid discs is what I need. Lol.... Thanks for the help.

Mine is also an 08 plate and has solids.

The pad is the same between solid and vented but the calipers are different based on the part numbers i could find.

Easiest way to be sure is just to visual check what yours has.

I got front discs and pads off ebay for £65 delivered, Delphi items as well...cheap!
