Am going to change my rack as I think it's causing my car to shake on the left hand side when accelerating passed 50 and when slowing down from high speed I have changed the track rod iners had my wheels balance n tracked again I am stuck to what it could be other than the rack it's self any one got any tips on how to remove it n refit it ?

Thanks Alex

I've not changed one on a GP but have on other cars. I looked at changing mine, not because it is bad just because I was changing all other front end components before I start on making it a bit faster :)

From what I can see and doing this before on other car....

Centre steering, remove track rod ends from hub carriers, disconnect bolt from steering shaft inside drivers footwell - fit a new fiat item and torque to required spec on refitting.
You'll need to remove lower rear engine / gearbox mount and bracket holding down / Flexi pipe to gearbox and possibly split exhaust at bottom of cat. Remove subframe braces and then unbolt rack from subframe. You may need to jack engine / box on its mountings to get clearance to remove rack which should now be free.
I'd change ARB bushes if too if your doing the rack, be more space other rack removed.
I don't think it would be any harder than changing front shocks or arms really, but lots of stuff looks that way until you snap a bolt or round a nut!

Cheers

Ben

Have you checked for bent rims? warped tyres? I would do this before a rack change, Can't see how a rack would cause those symptoms! Jack up car each side in turn and spin wheels while having a steady pointer near the rim and then the tyre. I see you say you had them balanced? I would get them checked for warped tyres and or rims, how old are the tyres? Change the front to back etc and see if it goes away. ID the problem before throwing ideas (And time and money) at it.
