Hello all, apologies if this is in the incorrect place, first time poster long time lurker on the forums.

I have a 1.2 06 plate grande Punto. The boot when opened doesn't appear to pop out far enough to get your fingers under to lift the boot lid, it takes some careful prying at the edge of the boot lid to get your fingers under to open.

Does anyone with more experience know what causes the boot to 'pop' open when the button is released? is it a spring?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Lift it slightly by the wiper, this should raise it enough to get your fingers underneath

Thanks for responding! Going by your comment I take it the boot lid on the Grande Punto is just a pain to open and It's not that i'm missing some spring or something?

italians must have very thin fingers....
My 2012 punto has a little gap....just like my old 2007 grande
so as above use the rear wiper as a handle.:)
