I wonder if someone can help me?
My fan heater is working intermittently but not very powerful.
Sometimes it will come on, but even on full power, it is slow and underpowered with a bit of a clunking noise and blowing little air out.
I have checked the connection to the fan and that appears to be clean, the resistor appears a little rusty in places but ok. I took the fan out and when i put it on any number but especially 4, it sort of moved a bit and with a little help from me, by spinning it, it made a half hearted attempt at spinning, but not as fast or as powerful as I would have expected, and even less on 3, with next to no movement on 2 or 1.
Does this mean that the fan motor has packed up or is packing up or is it the resistor. I have tried the "wiggle connectors to no avail and am now presuming it is either the resistor or maybe some component in the fan motor that is the problem. When I took the fan off there were no leaves or anything obstructing it. I would really like to know what the problem is as I don't want to have to fork out on parts I don't need or take it to a garage for an expensive repair bill.
Thanks in advance for any help given.
It's an 07 1.2 Punto Grande non A/C.

This is a very common problem, very often the connections burn out down at the resistor so will then need new connections/wiring loom and most of the time the motor soon stops as well. Would fit a new motor and see how you get on
