Maybe someone knows what the issue could be...

I turn my engine on (all lights are on and then they all go off) but the battery light stays on, and things like power steering are not working. I have had my alternator checked - came clear. I also had my battery checked - also came back clear.

When I took it to the mechanics it never happens to them... typical.. :bang:

This doesn't always happen (the battery light staying on on engine start) it does it in a random order.

So what I do is I switch my engine off and switch it back on until the battery light goes off with the rest of the lights. The worst has been having to turn my engine off and on 3 times, no more than 3 times.

The car works fine.

Any ideas would be really helpful!

What engine/model? Is this happening first time in the morning with a cold engine only?

Next time don't switch the engine off.

Rev to 2000-2500 rpm and see if the light goes off.

Its 1.2 petrol, grande punto dynamic. It just happens whenever really, first time in the morning or just park up for 10 mins and start the engine again after running for a while and the light decides to stay on so my power steering doesn't work so have to switch off and on again.

I tried to rev quite a few times on different days but the light just stays on.

Any ideas?
