Hi

Just looking for a bit of advice really.

I moved home last thursday, on Saturday a think i may have been caught by a mobile camera van doing around 36-37 in a 30 zone.

Now my problem is, i have not yet updated my details with the DVLA or my V5 certificate, so the fine wont come to my new address.

Also to make things more complicated i am part exchanging my car today so i cant really change the V5 certificate anyways.

Whats my best course of action? i am going to check with the people at my old address today to see if i have had any letters, but is there someone i can contact to see if there are any pending fines on my registration?

Thanks

What speed was your speedo registering? If you are saying around 36-37 from your speedo your real speed will probably be around 33-34mph so you might just sneak under the radar.

I have calibrated my daughter's Grande Punto using her black box in her car and the Torque app on my mobile and the speedo reads 11% over the actual real speed.

I am not to sure how fast it was tbh it was anywhere inbetween 35 and 40..

Im just worrying because i have moved house & sold the car, so dont know how i should proceed or who i should contact.

You can't really do anything until you're presented with a fine. Due to your move of house and part-exing the car I seriously doubt they can chase for "not updating details" or similar. As long as you admit liability and update your details for your license accordingly you'll be fine.

They'll see the change of details and probably re-issue to fine to the new address

:ROFLMAO:

This is the DVLA, if they can **** it up then they will! So I can't see this common sense approach working :p

OP surely you've got Mail Redirection on for the next few months? If so then it should be picked up by that and sent to your new address for you anyway (y)

As a complete aside, if its more than 10% under, the liability could well rest with the manufacturer - the Road Vehicle Construction and Use Regs allow 10%
either way - more that that and the car isn't legally allowed to be on the road!

But then again, I'd argue that anything up to 14% out was still 10% out.

C&U doesn't allow a speedo to UNDER read at all, but it can OVER read by as much as 10% plus 6.25 MPH.
