I have been reading this forum for a couple of years quietly in the wings and have found it most useful. Please could anybody help me identify the part which lifts the tailgate by a couple of inches when the switch/fob is operated (left hand side under tailgate).


I foolishly managed to lose mine when I put a bike in the back of the car.


I have found a diagram of the tailgate parts but sadly no descriptions. It is shown as item 5 on the attached diagram.

After much digging I have found the part. It is called a vessel P/N 51757671. Once I had the part number have since found it listed as tailgate plunger - price £6.99
