Hi all,
I now own a modified t-jet to about 200hp
and i have to by a new car for my job I am thinking of subaru impreza 2015 1.6l or mitsubishi lancer 1.6l also (as we have a very high customs on engines higher than 1.6)
and i will convert them after few years to WRX or Ralliart
what do you think it will be better for a strong daily drive car?

we don't have diesel engines in passengers cars here in Egypt and we have only 500 and 500l with the 1.2 8v 1.4 8v and 1.4 16v engines only no 500X and no mjet in any model (n)
they sold only 1 fiat linea mjet and it died after 60,000 km due to our diesel has a lot of impurities which killed the fuel pump , injectors and destroyed the cylinders slaves
 
What about an Alfa giulietta multiair? It's only a 1.4 so dodges the tax, has 170bhp in factory tune, sounds great under full throttle and keeps things Italian.

It is with my dad
Lancer will cost me about £16,000
Impreza about £17,000
Alfa gulietta will cost about £30,000
Alfa mito 140hp £20,000
And alfa running cost will be almost double because it uses 95ron only which is double the price of 92ron lancer or subaru use
 
The Lancer and Subaru are crap, the 1.6 isn't enough engine for the platform.
I have no idea what the market alternatives are in Egypt but there aren't many cars under £17,000 in Europe that will measure up to your T-jet.

all the cars here in Egypt are 1.6l or less due to customs i know both will not be even close to my t-jet but i had to choose a car and i am comparing between these two because i can convert them after the warranty is finished

N.B
customs in Egypt
1.6l or less 40% + 15% tax (cumulative tax i mean 15 on the price after the 40% added)
from 1.6l to 2l 135% + 15% cumulative tax
more than 2l 135%+45% cumulative tax

car license yearly renewal is also based on the engine size
 
Don't get rid lol, just Finnish Modifing it, sounds as if you have a beast as it is, not got any pics?

And what mods ave u done to see 200bhp

My car from outside is pure stock (sleeper :devil:)

td04 turbo
custom made exhaust (de-cat of course and 2.5")
Renult meguan RS intercoller
meth kit
(sport cams on the way)

suspension and brakes
eibach sportline
ebc rotors and green stuff pads (yellow will be fitted soon)

BTW my car is linea (the sedan ver of the grande punto)

A new car came out now
seat leon 1.2 TSI same price but spare parts costs more
my company said today htat i will hae to replace the car every 4 years thus converting to WRX or Ralliart will not be an option

I like the Leon, they look good and there are huge discounts available here in the UK. The 1.2 is OK (it's a light car) but don't you get the 150bhp 1.4tsi in Egypt? In the UK there is also a 180 bhp 1.8tsi and a 2.0tsi with 265 or 280bhp.

As it happens, I've been considering buying a 1.4tsi in fr trim to replace my t-jet.

In egypt the available model is the 1.2 only
And no discounts of course
Dsg was problematic in the passat due to high traffic and high temperature here in egypt
And i am afraid that i have problems with it

How does the car feel with the td04, is the turbo lag really bad under 300rpm?
Didi you hav to cut the bumper for the renault rs intercooler?

My td04 is the hl version it lags till 3800
The non hl ver. With my friends boost starts 2800
 
and yes i had to cut the fog lights places to fit the intercooler
The best direct fit inter cooler is fro. The lancia delta diesel it is a direct fit
