Hi All,

I currently have a fiat grande punto 1.4 8v, that i am having problems starting. the engine management lights is permanently on and show a fault on the temperature sensor, the sensor has been changed for a oem part, and the light stays on and the problem remains, it usually takes about 15 times before the car will start and when it does you cant press the accelerator for a couple or minutes or the car stalls, once running the car is fine. the ECU has also been checked and that is fine as has all the wiring for any loose connections. the battery has also been checked and is fine. anyone got any ideas what could be causing the problems

Agree whit Andy Monty's synonymous. Had the same problem on my 56 GP and replaced the MAP sensor. Starts first time and have had no further problems...

Although I think the water temperature sensor error code keeps cropping up as I had it reset by a mate but when you start the car up and all the lights go off one-by-one you can hear the clink of the EML turning itself off due to being reset... not sure about that though.

Anyway, best bet is to get a new MAP sensor. Easy to get a hold of and very easy to replace :)
