I have just had a new clutch fitted, after getting it back the bite point is almost at the floor. Pre clutch fitting it was quite high which is what I was used too. Its a right pain and seems wrong.

The mechanic bled the clutch several times and its still no better. The car is a GP 1.4 8v active sport. The clutch operates fine and is now nice and smooth just far too low a bite point.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have had a look at the master and slave and there are no obvious signs of leakage and I don't seem to be losing any fluid.

One thing of note, during bleeding the clutch pedal stuck down twice (I helped bleed) and I had to manually lift it. Once bled I have not been able to replicate this.

Could it be a sign the slave is on the way out and needs replacing?

Strange problem.. As the clutch is hydraulic, i would suspect air in the system. However you said that the clutch has been bled repeatedly. I'm hoping that everything has been assembled correctly including thrust bearing. Did he use original or imitation parts?

Non genuine clutch kit at my request to keep the costs down. I bled it again today and although I may be imagining it, its getting better. Not ideal but I can live with it now so I plan to run it a while longer and see how I get on.

It will be trapped air.
I usually drive around and pump the clutch whilst driving, then re-bleed after.
Can be a pain to get trapped air out.
Or just live with it for a week or so then get it bled.
