Hi Guys,

Sorry if this has been touched on before, i had a quick search and looked through the Guides, but no joy.

I have just brought an 06 GP, and at some point in its life, some lovely people have kicked off the wing mirrors. They have since been replaced and fitted by a fiat dealer, however they were not fitted flush as "bodywork" was required to do so, which obviously wasnt good enough for whoever owned the car! However i want to take a look at this, and if i cannot straighten it out myself?

my question would be has anyone seen this before/got any experience in this?

Is there a guide to removing the Mirror? I loosed off the two bolts, however still no movement at all in the mirror.

Cheers for any help,

Neenan (y)

Anyone got any ideas? Would like to get this sorted as soon as possible..

The way the light is reflecting in the first photo makes it looks like the panel is bent? If you take the mirror off it might be possible to get the panel pulled back into shape for a modest fee.

Edit, just re-read your post, that's what your trying to do.

Any ideas on getting the mirror off? Those two bolts appear to do nothing.... Are there more bolts accessible from inside the car behind the door panel?

I'd guess (and it is just a guess) that those bolts have non-captive nuts on the end and that you need to take the door card off to get a spanner on them from the inside.

If it were me my next move would definitely be to remove the door card. There maybe a some advice on this forum to help you do so, perhaps in a door handle problem related guide.

So I got this sorted last night. And It was so stupidly simple, I actually feel like a.... nevermind.

Turns out, there is a 3rd bolt behind the white power connector... hence no movement when taking the other 2 off. Doh.

Once off, it was just a case of a bit of light hammer work to straighten out the panel behind. 30 minutes of careful work and my mirror is (almost) flush!

...Even took the door panel off to see if there were bolts from the other side....

Yeah, will chalk that one up to inexperience....

Sorry, my daughter was out when i got home, so havn't had chance to look at hers. I was assuming that there may be a gasket type thing between the mirror and door, but as you now seem to have sorted it, i'll stand down.

Hi Keat,

Yeah, there is a panel built into the door which the mirror screws into. Pretty straight forward once you remove ALL the bolts.....
