Hi,

Two problems i'm having with my 1.9 mjet GP, a peculiar screeching sound coming from front left wheel or around that area. It only starts after ive been driving for about 10 minutes and goes away temporarily if i tap breaks. its becoming louder though and my local garage wasnt able to look at it yesterday and cant have a look until tues.

other issue is last night i took my car to be washed, drove it home, turned off engine and took out key, all the electronics went off, but the engine was still turning over as if nothing had happened. i put the key back in and tried again but nothing, after about a minute it cut out. ive driven it this morning and it seems okay. but seemed a pretty serious issue...

either the cars possessed or its a pretty serious fault :-/ lol

possibly a sticking brake calliper or slider/ guide pins sticking.. or badly lipped brake disc or worn pads or stone stuck in pads....

as for the no turn off problem...

first check the under bonnet fuse box is dry and pull it off the mounts and remove the three plugs under it and check for damp spray with wd-40 and refit or use hair drier......

take a look at this

okay, ive poked around the fuse box and dont see any obvious moisture but ive dried it all off as best i can.

yeah i was thinking maybe as the brake heats up and expands it starts to rub the disc, just need to get it into garage!

thanks for the advice, much appreciated
