General Newbie here, My Tjet

One day I'll have an abarth haha! Going along the tjet route next like you have then go for an abarth from there hopefully! Youve got a great example! And the seats look amazing, sat in one when I was looking for my first car and I've been sold ever since :D can I ask what the insurance is like?

FINALLY!

Glad to hear you enjoying it buddy! I really want to design a '1.4 & proud' sticker just for laughs haha it is amazing power from a little 1.4T engine and I love the fact it's as fast as a 2.0T golf gti! What figures did the remap produce? Must be near (or over) the 180bhp mark with a good torque figure aswel? I'm tempted for a remap but unsure :/

It's quite good when you see people looking at it like what a lovely car! I watched a man walk round mine for 5mins looking at it from all angles, thought he had plans to knick it for a while but quickly realised he was just having a nosey!

go for the remap, yours would hit around the magic 200bhp mark i think, ye mines about 185bhp with bmc filter and v power ha and put me down for one of those stickers.

and insurance wise i got it for £650 through admiral. bargain really

I have said before to many people that going from a sporting to an Abarth is a massive difference, even vs the remapped ones.

Everything changes, including handling and its much more planted in general!

Yourself and Misc stating that just proves it, also another member has also just picked up an evo SS......

Ye its a totally different beast! and with a remap, ive embarassed a few BMWs and Audis mwahahaha! for the last couple of days while its been nice ive just been driving to and from work with the radio off and window down so i can listen to the turbo and induction. its addictive! dont know wether the bmc panel filter adds to the noise. but either way. whoooooosh!

Trouble is I don't really want a remap as i'll have to pay to have it remove again at some point, was looking into tmc boxes but they seem to throw up quite a few issues on the SS, may have to go for a remap, only really want 200bhp-210bhp don't want to put too much strain on it! Higher figures have been achieved though. Must resist temptation!

I must say, I really wasn't that convinced until I got inside it! It has a great surprise factor aswel, hard to believe that little engine chucks out that much power. It is the perfect car for me, well, when I get it back lol (y)

Hi mate, im loving every second. every journey i make i look forward to. ive noticed that with my old tjet i got used to the power, whereas with the abarth, i drive with sport boost off, so when i put it on its always a suprise when i plant my foot :) will never get bored of that. couple of newer pics, not the best but waiting for summer to get some nice ones taken.

Hey chaps

A little update, been onto tony banks in Leeds again about an exhaust, he did the cat back for my tjet, this time im going all out turbo back and sports cat :p hopefully get that done in the next month or so, also going to take the splash and get the forge intercooler. Heard with the remap it makes a significant difference.

Just a couple of questions re the intercooler, does it need the forge hoses or is it just a straight swap, also if i do need the hoses do they have to be blue? Red car, blue hoses.....nope! Ha. I want that magic 200bhp! Ha

Ill keep yall updated

soooo

the sun is out and once again the car has had a bit of a wash. and i thought id take some pictures while the day of summer was here ha. oh and if anybody knows of a product to get rid of bug splats and dried on tarmac it would be greatly recieved. anyway the pictures......

Enjoy!

Just a small update, still waiting for the forge intercooler, they said itd be w weeks, well over that now, and getting the exhaust done saturday, getting sports cat-back, cant wait, will get pics up asap, and video hopefully

I was going to go back to him, but the slack arse never got back in touch, so going to zorstec in shipley, heard great stuff about them. How you liking yours mate? Bet your mpg has dipped slightly with wanting to make it sing ha

So picked up the new intercooler today, took a few snaps. The build quality is great, makers name on it as well as date it was made. also red hoses to match the car. cant wait to get it on now!!!!!!

As you mentioned about the forge hoses being blue, Ive seen a silicone hoses/sfs performance hose kit for the abarth that you can buy in pretty much any colour! Worth a look tbh, cheaper than the Forge kit too! ;)

Tom

You have a choice when you order it, so the red hoses didnt cost any extra.

Got the first part of my exhaust done on saturday, cat-back, and its going back in a few weeks to get the sports cat and down pipe fitted. I can feel the difference already, the pull all the way through the rev range has improved, cant wait to get the sports cat on.

The front mount is getting fitted tomorrow, and the tmc induction has been ordered and is on its way.

Its all coming together slowly, got a couple of pics of the exhaust. Went for twin pipes, and they are staggered aswell with 3 inch tips, hope you like.

Well quick update, fitted the tmc induction yesterday, went for a drive, and took it straight off! Firstly it didnt fit correctly, i soldiered on, and made it fit. The noise is just silly, so loud, not my cup of tea at all, and no performance gain, possibly lost some pull. Ive sent it back to tmc who were very helpful when i rang them. Cant fault the quality, just not what i was expecting. So instead ive ordered an ITG panel filter, meanr to be very good, so will see how that performs
