Hi Guys - My windscreen wipers at the front have stopped working suddenly. Can anyone confirm that the same fuse services both the front and rear wipers? (my rear ones still work)

Ive heard that the motor is a common problem - would it be easy for more to fix?

Its a 57 plate 1.2 active

Hi, the motor isnt always the problem. Its the wiper linkage that falls apart.

Can you still hear your motor when you turn them on? If so then it will be your linkage. You can buy a wipex kit which is quite cheap to replace them and much better built than the standard fiat one

the mk2 was from 2000 to 2003
from 2003 to 2006 is was the mk2b

After 2006 in the UK, it was the grande punto

As a rule of thumb, not usually, they usually have there own power and own switchs, so i'd say no

eBay "Fiat Wipex" for the best linkages and take the whole assembly off the car to fit them. It hardly takes any longer than fiddling about, less risk of paint damage and you can wet/dry "polish" the bearing pins properly.
 
never worked on the later punto but its quite likely a can bus fault
i would take motor off car and see if it worked off the battery with some made up dodgy leads made from those jump leads aunt ethel bought you in 1984:)
