right im going haft to put this as best as i can as im no mechanic !

first of all its a 1.6 jtd,

i was just normally driving around when now and then i get a noise what i can only explane as air being pushed out from somewhere ? maybe the turbo ? sometime happened when i change gear too.

also i tried to install a k&n air-filter (induction kit one) and when it was fitted sounded fair loud to me, started driving and the air releasing noise was more and when i changed gears even more ! kinda felt like it was the turbo slipping if that makes sense ? it was given to me and did look quiet big for the car so i was unsure the guy that sold it to me was telling the truth it was for my car ! to big of a filter ? to much air going into the engine and turbo?

please someone help me im sick of my dealer just fobbing me of

i hope someone can make some sence of this or what i can do etc, would love to have a induction kit fitted but not if its going to do that and i want to get my stainless system fitted soon and was told that the filter will aid the exhaust etc

it will sound a lot louder with a cone filter

you should hear more of a wooshing noise when pressing the accelerator as the air is sucked in and then a "tssssh" noise if you let off the accelerator quickly as the wastegate is opened and the air rushes out

this all happens normally but you don't hear it so much with the standard airbox

I take it all these noises started once you fitted the induction fit ?

The noise is your turbo spooling up, i only fittted a pipercross pannel filter to mine and i could hear the differance. By putting an induction kit on all you are doing is increasing the air flow to your engine that is where the induction part comes from. There is nothing to worry about, but depending where you have put the filter cone the induction kit, you could actualy be down on BHP due to heat soak.

yeh i get what our saying people , but i get like a slipping noise too ? nothing to do with the egr?

also while im asking questions i asked a guy who works at a tuning place to see if he can remap my car and he asked me if its a limited model or somthing as its not showing on his system for my model, its 2010 model, is the 1.6 a limited model etc?

its probably just cause its newer, i think that engines used in the punto evos aswell...replacing the 1.9D
