hi everyone

i had coilovers fitted on sunday and had a 4-wheel alignment today
all the tracking was sorted

my problem is the camber was out
0.38 deg on the left wheel
and -1.02 on the right

i would have got the garage to sort it buy wanted to charge £95 plus the alignment of £35! so i just had the alignment corrected

does anyone know if it can be corrected myself? or is it that bad that it really needs changing?

any helps appreciated, thanks

I think your first mistake is to get the alignment changed so soon after fitting new suspension.

It is better to let things settle for a bit longer before adjusting the alignment.

The camber angles you have may be corrected by camber bolt kits. So long as kits area available for your car. And the added benefit of adjustable camber bolts is that in the future you can change your camber settings, for example if you felt you wanted better cornering ability.

What coilovers? and how much have you dropped them? You are always going to get an increase in camber when you lower and im guessing you dont know what the readings were when on standard suspension.

Like punto matt said you always get camber changes when you lower the suspension. The key thing here really is how much the camber is out of spec. Too far out and you are going to get lots of excessive wear anmd go through tyres pretty quickly.

Id go and get your geometry looked at first before splashing out on get5ting things corrected.

Where do you live?

Sorry guys but he doesnt need the standard 4 wheel laser alignment, he needs a full geometry done...........the best place to get this done is usually at an accident repairer who will have the equipment needed to measure all the suspension angles......

never ever go to kwik fit for any thing, go some where like elite above! proper alignment includes camber. if you don't know any where like them local to you its worth a trip down to them, lots of people travel to them as they are top of their game, there waiting room even has its own cafe as well as comfy chairs and large screen tv

Yeah Id go for Elite....like you say they can tweak it to how you want it. They set up a Civic Type R for me with an aggressive camber and it was a dream to drive.
