Technical Aligning wiper arms

Hi there,

Been having some trouble realigning the wiper arms on my fiat. I had to remove them so I could access some bolts to unscrew the shock absorbers, now I can't put the wiper arms back in the same orientation they were originally without them hitting the black plastic part of the hood.

Not sure what's going on, would like some tips from anyone who has removed their wiper arms before too?

There should be small dots..or lines on the screen to indicate where..


Not something I had a problem with on my punto though..

Maybe just slacken and move up a little..

Let us know what you find ( maybe the motor and mechanism hadnt 'parked' correctly)

I had another look at another fiat punto's arms for reference and they seem to sit more deeply inside the car unlike mine...?

I could tighten the bolts so it goes deeper but I can only do it so much, and the motor housing doesn't seem to have any way to adjust itself.

I'm sure the motor is parked right since if I turn on the mechanism it would hit the bottom of my hood but it returns to where it was originally.

Really strange, maybe I must've bent the metal that holds the motor when trying to remove the wipers?

The arm sits on a serrated edge : 'spline'

Maybe it hasnt sat on the spline properly
( assuming you havent put the Flat washer in there..)
