Grande Punto 06 1.2 dynamic.

I havent got a handbook yet (and considering I'm in dispute with the dealer I dont think they are going to send me it as promised lol!)

Have a friend coming for the day in a couple of weeks and have no room for her baby unless I put him in a carseat in the front and she squeezes between my two in the back.

So does my car have a disable button? And where can I find it?

thanks

I couldnt trust a childs life to an electronic menu system rather than a more physical on/off key system.

What difference does it make.
The light on the dash illuminates to indicate passenger airbag off and also the lcd display.
A switch is a switch - binary on or off. Who's to say that they key verison does not get a short circuit on the cable. Also most key versions i have seen can be turned with a screw driver.

Grande punto - NCAP safety rating.
Adults 5 star
Child 3 star
Pedestrian 3 star

Brava
Adults 2 star
Child no star rating
Pedestrian no star rating

I know which one i would choose.

you have a point Adrian and to be honest I'm not going to keep this car for long for this and other reasons. Not that I've had it for long. I really dont like it. I dont like the many complaints I see about it continually displaying faults. I dont like anything that relies too much on electronics. When I got it, the boot was broken. Whilst I waited for it to be fixed, it was unusable, because it's not key operated. Yes you can go through the rear seat. But I have two kids in the rear seat. I'm not going to haul carseats out to get a buggy in. This strikes me as overworking on aesthetics - to me a small family car like a 5 door GP needs to be more functional than pretty. Well both actually. I dont believe it has key operated rear doors either (I may be wrong, the car's at the dealership awaiting new steering column) which may be standard but again if I have kids in the back I want to be able to get the doors open with a key in an emergency especially when they are strapped into car seats.

The verification on the dash would be fine then. I did not know it was there. The thought of changing it in a menu and having no verification is what worried me.

I don't know why your comparing the Grand Punto's safety to the Brava's, I am certainly not trying to and made no mention of it. Of course the Grand punto will be far superior in terms of NCAP safty, it is nine years younger.

if your on about the gp then when u open ur door if the doors are locked then it will unlock all the other doors, also if u were to have an accident then the doors open automatically after an impact to allow emergency services or anybody to get in and help..... i dont see a problem with not havin a key barrel in all the doors unless the battery dies but u can get into the drivers anyway.
