hi guys, iv had a search but cant really find the answer....
is the only difference between the 75 and 90hp 1.3mjets only the ecu? i have the 75 bhp one, but was wondering if anyone knows if fiat would put the 90bhp info on mine, or if i could swap the ecu with a 90bhp one, or even if it can be done? just an idea i had, about another way to quicken up my car :)
cheers everyone
Pete

I don't think it's just. Case of swapping the ecu the 2 versions have different turbos the 90 has a 6th gear an there's probably a few over differences a remap is probably your best bet at least it will be right for your car. If u do get it remaped could you post any results up I wouldn'tind doing it to my car just insurance is too high

i didn't know there were that many differences. cheers mate. i have considered a remap, and will undoubtedly in the future get one. though i don't want to invalidate any warranty as my cars only 9 months old. i am however, when i get the finds, going to invest in tmc's tuning box. hes got very good results, and recommendations, and for 115 pounds you cant go wrong. hes on this site under the traders bit, have you considered one of them?

Still invalidates your warrenty. If you try to claim on it, you are defrauding the warrenty company.
Red Dot remap is only £80 more than the tuning box, and includes two RR runs.

So does a remap if you want to be technical. The box however is more easily removed before servicing unless you live close to the remap shop.
Lots of main dealers offer both re-mapping and boxes and if supplied by them will continue to service and do warranty work on your car without issues.

Are you on commission with RED DOT? You should be :D

if you remove the tmc box, i believe that there are no traces of it, so come service time, it will look lovely and standard :).
the remap will come when the warranty finishes.
this question is for tmc... do you know if when i eventually get your box, and in a couple of years time get a remap, will the tuning box still make an impact on performance?
cheers

I would strongly advise against running a remap and tuning box together, generally its one or the other. I have heard from customers in Asia who have run both with huge amounts of power but again I would strongly advise against that.

ok then, how come then? do they conflict, or is it to much power for the clutch or something?
cheers for the advice anyway

Basically both do the same thing, increase fuelling, if you already have increased fuelling with the box increasing it further with the remap will likely result in plooms of black smoke.

He never said it didnt? He just pointed out that technically your product invalidates it aswell but the difference if you can remove yours and then take it in as standard if anything breaks which is fraud effectively isnt it if the extra power has caused what ever component to break and you are taking it to a dealer claiming that its fine.

Same as above, its fraud if your car breaks because of the box and you then remove it and try to get the problem fixed under warrenty as if the car is standard.

So if you dont intend to do it then why not remap? Both have as much chance of breaking something on the car and if your so honest then you wont mind paying out will you? :)
