Hi all. My car has been back to the garage again today for the second time and they have found no faults with the car (AGAIN)

Problems i am getting are:
When braking and coming to a stop there is sometimes a Juddering and on the odd occasion there has been vibration through the steering wheel.

The Brakes dont seem to be responsive as they should be sometimes.

Has anyone had any experience with this? because the garage have not got a clue!

Cheers all

No i dont think so mate, If the ABS was kicking in would it not flash on the dash? The problem is happening at all speed.

no the abs doesn't have a warning light.......

abs can kick in even at 5mph ish (i know there is a set limit to when the system "activates") but cant remember what off the top of my head

had mine come on today in what i would class as normal braking

go out find a quiet road and get it to activate (do an emergency stop from 20 mph or so and see if its what your feeling)

had a mate return his car to the dealers having come from a car without abs and have the brakes "judder" when i brake on the motorway

do the brakes feel unresponsive when the judder occurs? the abs can feel like that (try doing what i did the other year in snow came off at a a motorway off slip (the motorway was clear of snow) to be greeted by a white slip road and went up it with the ABS kicking in all the way to the top  you think you wont stop BUT a locked wheel has lower traction than one which is rotation and you retain your steering control

if your still not happy ask if you can have a quick go in the dealers demo car to see if the same happens

edit did your last GP do the same? and seen as you have an S2 by the looks of it do the hazards come on when you feel the judder?

cheers, will try the emergency stop tomorrow.
My last GP did not do it no and the hazards dont come on either.

cheers for the help (y)

Check the none of the wheels are buckled, thats what it was on mine when i had a vibration thought the wheels.

The wheels are alright as I have your buckled wheel and mine has done the same even with my old wheels.

I can't figure it out, either can my mechanic.

I would of said it was the ABS.

But as my ABS, ESP, ASR is all completely off (since it got wrote off) and it still does it then it kind of rules the ABS out of the equation.

It feels like they are indecisive weather to work atall or not, like a very very very slow ABS system.

*Car thinks* Should I break ? yeah, no, yeah, no, yeah, no as fast as you can read yeah no yeah no yeah no. Haha.

My GP has had and still has loads of problems but I still love it :slayer:

If you find out what it is, let us know please.

I'd love to know myslef

Yep! im getting this as well - 09 plate GPS T-JEt.

Sometimes they feel sharp, and responsive, othertimes they just feel like there is nothing there. ABS seems to 'feel' like its kicking in early at slow speeds sometimes..

Dealer found nothing wrong.

its in again on the 9th for multiple issues...

My money would be on a warped disc by the sound of it.

Ok cheers guys, im glad im not the only one with this issue.

Ive taken the car to ATS today and they have put the car on rollers to check the brakes are working correctly. Results say the brakes are fine and he reckons that some new cars the ABS can be very sensitive.

The guy drove my car and performed an emergency stop and guess what the judder happened.

:yeahthat:

So anyway im gonna speak to the dealership again to see what they say.
