The million dollar question! At the end of the day, they are a company that build cars down to a price. It wouldn't be very good business acumen for them to be that responsive to customer issues. If they were, expect to be buying a FIAT Grande Punto for the same price as an A3...
With regard to FIAT dealers basing their warranty claims on what they read on a forum, I am sure there are various legalities with this which would not necessarily back them up if you took them to court over it. Letter of the law demands proof beyond reasonable doubt... Can they prove that that car they've seen online is ultimately yours? Can they prove that you haven't just been bullsh!tting the other people on the forum? As I said, I dunno about the legalities of it all, so was just chucking an idea out there.
That said, if you increase the power of your car by about 50% using only standard parts, as a previous post stated - accept the increased risk of a component failing.
Depends how you use that increase really. Your comment applies to all modding not just engine performance, lowering is a perfect example. No matter how you drive a lowered car the change to drive-train angles is always working on the car in a negative way.
My car is now out of warranty and I am confident it will be fine as I use my performance increase as and when needed not to show of with bragging rights, for me it was a natural thing to do as my car is a working car, for that very reason I need it to be reliable.
Personally I think most Fiat faults are caused by ignorance and lack of maintenance (the exceptions being the Fiat "known issues by model") which warranty rightly resolves.
