Theres a few Posts in amongst this lot on Turbo timers.

I dont see the point really, just make sure you drive off-boost for a mile or so before you switch off IMO, but its your car. (y)

I agree, no point in a Turbo timer for the teeny blower in the GP, a large white hot racing skyline a different story but I hardly imagine the whistle in the Tjet requires one. as ffoxy says just drive sensible before switching off.

Seaneb2003 is running an abarth turbo and is only about 5bhp and 27lbs/ft off what you are running. Not bad for a 1.4 litre whistle powered car ;)

Yea yea lets not turn this Thread into another MJet / TJet row...

Big price difference between an Abarth & what I paid for my car anyhow but we wont go there...

Turbo-timer Thread remember...

Seeing as he doesn't have an Abarth then no we won't (y)
Just pointing out that he doesn't have a standard T-Jet so he has a bigger whistle than most T-Jets!
Oh and no the OP didn't say anyhthing about an Abarth but he did ask for help on the turbo timer, Not opinions on why its not worth it etc., which doesn't really help when he has clearly already brought it!

(y) Should have asked before wasting cash but as I said its his car...

Its not actually a waste. The Abarth turbo which he has fitted is bigger than standard and will suffer more with heat soak(especially when its driven hard which I assume he is if he's gone to the bother of fitting a bigger turbo).

Its Quite a highly tuned engine in a little engine bay. Turbo timer is actually quite a good investment especially longterm. Better than a gay blow off valve.

As for the original question as to fit it I don't have a clue. Auto electrician's job for sure!.

The OP doesnt say he has an Abarth tho Chris... ;)

Thunderchump muddied the waters

Your entitled to your opinion. If it were my car and I was keeping it a while I'd fit one.

BUT I also wouldn't stop with JUST a Turbo upgrade either . So once all the mods are added it would have more benefit.

And wheres you get that crap about it being for cars with HUGE turbos?. Any moderate to high performance car would benefit from longer turbo life with a timer......
