Congratulations! Remember to give reliability and efficiency updates. What's the manufacturers warranty like? Please don't join the MPV crowd.... nobody should suffer a Renault Megane Scenic!

Look guys, @ tango2007, bunglebear and Tym....
The EGR valve is more likely to get blocked up depending on your driving style, the fuel used and type of driving environment, modern diesels (all makes NOT just Fiats) dont like slow town driving environments, they are made as mile munchers not shopping trolley school drop busses etc.

:D

So are you basically saying that if you own a diesel then you should be taking it for a good run every weekend to clean the cobwebs out?:p

I think a diesel is meant best for long distance runs steve119, I know taxi's are diesels and operate in town but they are on a long or continuous duty cycle, they never stop. A good run or two every week works wonders, so far I have had no issues and covered 48,500 miles in 2 years, I do regular long runs and give the car a good blowout through the gears where appropriate.
