So its insurance renewal time and i have been having a play and elephant are quoting me a whopping £6 extra for an abarth over my T-Jet :slayer:

so I thought "if only i had £13k! but i don't"

So i went to broadspeed.com just for a laugh to see what they are going for on there. £9700ish!! thats a billy bargain! So now despite my better instinct i am thinking could i make this work?!?

My T-jet is a minter (57) and has been faultless for 18.5k miles.

What kind of cash will i be looking at having to find if i was to sell up and upgrade?

In a way i want you all to depress me and make me realise i can't afford it (and the missus would actually slap a sex ban on me!) But secretly deep down i want it so bad....... i think i might be an Abarth pervert :)

I know Broadspeed have it listed on their website, but I would check they can actually source the car at that price before you start planning...

I don't believe for a moment they could do it for that price, especially when the dealers aren't budging below £13k, along with every other car supermarket / broker.

Agree entirely, I wouldnt get your hopes up

Not sure about £8k - more like £6.5 - 7 if you're very lucky.

I had an '08 T-jet with all the extras, leather, skydome, sub, tints.

The Abarth dealer got his little "CAP" book out and showed me that my
T-Jet books for £6.5k at the moment. And that was with 4,500 miles on the clock.

And they most certainly wouldn't budge under £13k - not even free mats.

So if you can get £8k for it you'd better snap their arm off, before it depreciates even more......

You wont get 8k 7max i would of thought and you will be lucky. And broadspeed are chatting shiite saying they can do an abarth for that price. No Abarth dealer is discounting so they cant haggle to get 4k off the price. If you want more power get a GSR kit and a remap and that will see you at abarth power.

I've already mentioned in another post that we got just over £7k for our 08 M-Jet Sporting. There was only one dealer that would go to that! Most were in the £6k region. I reakon you'd be lucky to get six, especially if they are doing the Abarth for that, check the price they are doing your car at!

my best advice dont buy a new one get a ex demo there are a few around they put them up for sale after 3 months.prices vary depending on spec but i saw one for sale £11,500 a few months ago, when i was shopping for a new car:)

If you say so. The fact there is only 100 sold means that resale values are still relatively high but then the current time isnt the best to be judging with the used car marked being fcuked.

Sorry to ruin your master-plan Thunderchump but there's absolutely no way you're gonna get an Abarth for that price! I don't know where they're getting there info from but it simply isn't possible.

Anybody who pays £13000 is mad they will lose tons of money compared to other cars in the same class.

i can live with that lol ;) and as matt has said theres not many more than 100 been sold in england so far so...

im enjoying my AGP so ... thats what counts for me.... if you buy a car for resale value ur mad... ur never going to make your money on a car so... get what you want and worry about that at a later date.

Chances of finding a used Abarth for under £11500 is going to be slim, let alone that Brand new price that website is quoting. However, If that price is right I would be getting one, but I think you will be dissapointed after your phone call. If Abarth have only sold 100 odd to date they are stuggling, So in the near future you can probably expect to see new prices dropping alot in the next few months :)
