Hi,

I had my radiator changed on Warranty, but when I checked the engine coolant level it was right on the minimum value. I topped it up with normal water so that it is now between the min and max levels.

Is this ok or is my car going to explode!

totally fine.

next time use anti freeze too. but the amount of water you added shouldnt affect the anti-freezing/collant/anti-rust properties significantly.

Thanks for that mate. I was going to add some anti-freeze but wasn't sure if I had to drain the old coolant out first as not sure if you can mix diff types of coolant, so played it safe with water

pretty sure you can mix anti-freeze, dont see why not. But like i said you should be totally fine.

Again FIAT re quite specific about which anti-freeze to use but I would say, as with engine oil, dont mix it and use the correct spec.

I wouldnt mix oils but anti-freeze its very simple, the only active ingredient is ethanol, should be fine mixing them, its not very technical.

EDIT: sorry methanol not ethanol.
