I have been looking to buy a GP Sporting 1.9 JTD:). I was hoping to get the orange one which looks uber cool. As i cannot get an orange one i have been considering other colours.

I have been offered a GP Sporting 1.9 JTD in Chemical Grey, 57 reg, not sure of the mileage yet. The dealer has it for about £10.5K. They have said they will give me £3K for my 52 plate 1.6 stilo, 5 door, red, with just over 64K on the clock.

I will be going to test drive a GP sporting 1.9JTD tomorrow:D can't wait. The car i have been offered is in another branch so they will have to bring this car to their branch for me should i take them up on the offer. BTW, I just missed out on an orange one:( Gutted.

What do you think about the offer and colour?

Which colour do you think is the best?

i recon u can get more for ur stilo try that, gray is a nice colour suits the GPS shame they aint got red :D seem if u can get the price down a little, afterall ur the one with the money, balls in your court.

I paid £9999 for my Sporting, chemical grey, std spec. It was a 56 reg and was approx 7 months old when i got it (about 6800miles). The dealer gave me £3800 for my 02 reg 1.6 Focus.

The orange is a nice colour (my original choice), but I didn't think i could live with it everyday. The grey is much better, hides dirt aswell. Plus, once its been given a wash and a polish it looks superb.

The price you have been quoted doesnt sound too bad, but haggle all you can, they originally offered me £3500 for my car but i got it to £3800 and they threw in 6 months tax.

The colour is ok, personally prefer the red or the orange but I am bias!
The price is a bit steep, can get a brand new 2008 one in colour of your choice for 10.6K from drivethedeal.com. Print it out and take it in and get them to drop the price, however save it as your trump card after you have got them to improve on the trade-in! worth ago, pays to be cheeky.

Wow im well impressed(y) fantastic thank you for the information. I have just been on drivethedeal.com and they have quoted me, with discount price, £10323 brand new. I now have more amunition and a dilema, do i go for new or a 6 month old and try and get the price down. The only thing is, will drivethedeal take my car as PX or are the purely interested in just selling new. Something i will look in to.

A big thanks to everyones comments and feed back so far, what a great forum and community.:D(y)

Probably will take trade in, all the do is find a dealer who will sell you the car for that price and pass it on to you. In theory you should also visit a fiat dealer with that information and see if they can match it and they will take trade in. Thats what I did and the dealer matched drive the deal.
If you can knock another £750 to £1000 off I'd go for 6month old car, you will have no wait and will off-set some of the depriciation.

White all the way...Looks the dogs.

After white, met blue or maybe red...grey's dull, imo of course.

BTW Drive the deal are very good, bought my C2 VTS from them, cracking deal

Also gave me bargaining muscle when geting my GPS. Got it brand new for just under £10k like I've said before....bargain me thinks!

Don't settle for second best, if you want ornage then wait for another to come around, you will only regret it when you see an orange GPS drive past. I was looking for a pre-reg GPS in orange but couldn't get one so i just ordered one and had to wait 7 weeks as that was the colour i really wanted.

Update!!

Just wanted to say a big thank you for all your comments and thoughts.(y)

I spent a good few hours in the dealers the other day, i did try to get a deal on a new one first, but they said they would not be able to get near drivethedeal's price, and if they got anywhere near it they would offer me less for my car:cry:.

With that i went back to chemical grey one i initially mentioned, having looked around i thought the deal was quite fair for a main dealer. Leaders wanted £10200 for an 07 plate, they offerd me £1750 for my car and were not willing to compromise, so i walked out :tosser::ROFLMAO:. So, i am picking up my GP Sporting tomorrow afternoon. I will just have to see what else i can get out of them.

Having looked at the colour a few times now i like the the colour. Next time i buy a car i will be in a better position financially, so next time i will probably be able to afford to be picky. GP Sportings are also becoming a bit like rocking horse $hit around this area.

Also; i could i'll afford to hang on to my stilo, i could never now when my next break down is going to come:eek:. In the last two years i have had more than my fair share of breakdowns:cry:, about 5 or 6 times to be honest, and it has always been on my way to work, ha, think it's trying to tell me something. So, it's goodby stilo and hello GP Sporting:D.

Thank you all(y)

Why don't you just buy one off drive the deal and sell your car privately with a low asking price?
If you are in Liverpool I'd go over to forward autos in St Helens. Quite flexible.
There is one in the classfied on here 1.4tjet 2500miles 6months old. Leather, CLimate control and white and he only wants £8k for it. Bargin really. You would have to do a lot of miles in a diesel to make it worth the extra compared to the T-jet.

Too late now i guess..

Forward autos in St Helens have a pre reg 57 plate, delivery mileage one in the showroom - was offered it at £11.6k on Friday - i didn;t push at all as i knew i could get better elsewhere on the net, and not sure that is really the car i want for a commuter/runaround second car. It was registered end of November. Sales guy said it would list at £13600 now.

They also have a T-jet in the showroom, in mid grey (sorry not sure which one specifically), again del miles 57 plate.

nebrog / percymon.

Thanks for your comments (y) because of the mileage i do (at least 18K a year) a diesel is the best choice, hence my reason for going for the MJet 1.9. As i'm the only driver in the house we only have one car so selling privately then buying from the web from say drivethedeal would not be suited to me at all, but i can see were you are coming from. Big thanks anyway.

Just going to pic up the car now.

Thank you all.:D(y)

I shall now look forward to the TJet / MJet argument. (now i hear the groans of oh don't start that on again ha)
