colour code mirror caps and door handles?
remove the punto badge from the rear?

thought about changing your bulbs? like the orange indicator bulbs to the raindbow ones, xenon style headlight bulbs?

you thought about maybe a nice i.c.e set up?

Its not much of a mod; but how about having a non-slip mat on your dash with a die cast GP (if you can find one) on top?

i've already done the i.c.e. it was the first thing i did! i was thinking about bulb but i can't seem to find ones i like from anywhere. the xenon are blue look arent they?

i have got one and it fits flush looks pretty cool. what ice set up you got mate?

ye they can be white or blue look, personal preference really, what about a new gear knob or handbrake handle? lowering your car? quite expensive but worth the 100-150 quid in my eyes. not sure what else to suggest to you.

GPs are on of the few cars that are design-perfect. Straight out of the box.

You can stick stuff on Corsas and the like because the original shape is pretty ordinary. The GP is a design classic. I suggest no 'improvement' is the best enhancement. Especially when you have the oh-so-smart blue one, which is already the perfect colour.

hiya matey, cars looking good so far! :)

as said, what about some new bulbs?! they're pretty cheap, and a very effective mod as removing the 'fried egg' look from the front lights is a worthy mod!

also, what about replacing the headlight bulbs for xenon effect ones? all they do is give a whiter, brighter light, so the road is a bit more visable than when you have the standard 'yellow' look bulbs which look awful imo.

depending on how much you have to spend matey, there is an interior lighting kit available (pm me for details)

then you can move onto improving the paintwork... some nice polish/wax/sealant will make it stand out more, make it look great, and look after the paintwork for you as a bonus!!

then you could paint the callipers, i used hammerite, about a fiver from b&q, a couple of coats and bobs your mothers brothers!!! :D

depends how far you want to go matey, but callipers and changing the front indicator bulbs and headlight bulbs is a worthy cheap mod imo... then you could also replace the read brake lights and tail lights for l.e.d. units too! :D

new number plates??

so, there is a few mods for you to be getting on with! :D

oh, btw, the higher the number on the headlight bulb the blue'r it will be...

mine are 6500k... which give a nice white light.

i'm shall be getting some proper xenon bulbs fitted sometime soon.

the bulbs are H4 and the front indicator bulbs are offset pins, and the rears are straight pin. :) HTH

i think your best mod if definately the light upgrade inside, i looked into it and it is 100 pounds including fitting, which isn't too bad but i have got to do a bit more saving before i purchase it!! btw can the lights all be on whilst your driving and easily be switched off? cheers minnnt

James PC plod and his merry band dont like interior lighting IIRC the law states any illumination must be turned off when the car is in motion except instrumentation and warning light that are in front of the Driver it doesnt matter in the back

taken from the toyota owners club via google

As far as the law and MOT regs go:

Interior lights are not part of the MOT, with respect to the law, you are causing an offensive if light leaks from your cars inside, IE: passing cars can see all your dash lit up like a christmas tree, or if the actull lamp/bulb/LED is visible to other drivers. The best thing to do is tint your windows wink.gif

The law around external lighting is a little fuzzy

If you are fitting neons or LEDs to your car, you must adhere to the following

yellow or white on the front

Amber to the side

Red to the rear.

undercar neons will pass MOT as will fog lights, as they are not part of the test. BUT if they are the wrong colour in the wrong places they will be deemed ilegal on public highways.

Coloured side lights, repeaters, head lights ect will fail MOT, as will lenses where the lamp/filiment is visible or they are to bright, head lights that are to high or low will also fail MOT. They are also against the law.

You can have coloured lenses as long as the light given off is correct for that lamp IE: you can have a pink side repeater as long as it gives of amber light.

any form of blue light on a vehicle inside or out is ilegal. Most cops will turn a blind eye to neons, and washer jets, aslong as they are not blue.

If you have BLUE lights on your car, you will be stopped and fined, the police are very strict on people using BLUE lighting.

Remember even if the kits or lamps are 'E' marked it doesnt meen they are road legal.

Also have your neons/LED's ect on an ilsolated supply meening you can turn them off without having to turn your head/side lamps off.

yes matey, the lights can be on when driving, as his clio 197 has the footwell lights on when in motion.

mine just come on with the interior lights. :)

just last week i was driving through my local high street with my interior neons on, and the a policeman was right next to my car in the middle of the road while i was in traffic due to something going on in the highstreet, he looked right inside my car and saw the lights but did not do anything.

so by me having blue sidelight bulbs it is illegal?

what do you mean blue sidelights?

if they are blue when on then yes they're illegal, but as to whether or not the Po Po would do you for them is a different matter.

they light up blue instead of white, il post some pics soon, and would they also fail the mot in 2 years when it comes round to it?
