hi guys hi have a fiorino 1.3 mulijet on 2008 plate
Theres are 2 problems I,m having 1. the van will run fine but sometimes when I turn it off it wont turn over however if I leave for 15 minutes it will then start and run fine
2 the van will run fine and suddenly cutt out dead at this stage I get the management light come sometimes the van will restart but cuts out after a couple of hundred meters iv had diesel garages look at it and it comes up with low fuel pressure and fuel rail codes iv had one injecter changed a new ezm valve and a new fuel filter but the problems still there do anyone have any thoughts on this ?? thanks

Hi,
there are several options,
really you want hard figures on the rail pressures,

look in Ducato section for more "Common Rail" info,
Charlie

hi just a quick update I found what lloked fillings in the fuel replaced the fuel pump and the van as fine for over a week but today I pulled up out side my house the problem with the van not turning over was present but again cleared after waiting 20 minutes just wondering if u might any thoughts on this thanks steve

Hi,
it MAY be you improved something while having things apart,

probably worth pulling the fuel filter and tipping into a bowl - looking for more filings / debris,

Charlie

sorry I think I gave u mixed messages Charlie the low fuel pressure hasn't come back as yet the problem is sometimes when I turn the vehicle off every now and then its dead at the key the starter motor does not turn over or even click but after 20 minutes it will and so far the engine management light has not come on thanks steve

Hi,
it's getting more common to see cases of this type,

where the internal strands / connections of the main BLACK battery to gearbox EARTHcable
break down , yours does sound as if something is HOT / expanded and then works once cooled,

a good test would be to stop engine once warm,

use a "jump-lead" from battery neg to chassis / gearbox, attempt to crank engine,
THEN seconds after..remove jump-lead, and see if it's WORSE..,

let us know what you find,
Charlie
