Just bought a Bravo 1.4SX and when I am moving up the gears I get the rev counter doing what it should do in relation to the amount of pressure I apply on the accelerator, however the speed ratio to the revs is somewhat different.

When moving up the gears the pickup speed seems to be very sluggish and does take time for the car to pick up optimum speed, in addition to this there is a faint smell of petrol when the window is down - non in the car itself..

Anyone got any ideas...

Cheers

Re: Re: Acceleration

Welcome to the club, mine is doing that now! Job for january, new clutch.

£90 from Borg & Beck :(

Re-Acceleration

Would the dealership be able to advise straight away if the clutch was on it's way out......

Re: Re: Re-Acceleration

Tom, snap.

My clutch bearing is rattling like a dildo on duracell.
Just got a quote of £120 all inclusive with warranty, didn't quite get all the info, just was happy with price. :)
Usually the 1.2 16V's are more expensive for clutches I was told.

Re: Re: Re: Re-Acceleration

£90 is just for the parts :) Borg & Beck are about the best make you can find. Boge Sachs do a kit for £100.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re-Acceleration

Yep, cheapest kit I found was £105, which was a Borg and Beck.

oh hell...

Sh!t. £120 job done...?

i think i've been done, paid £200 for clutch and fitting on my 1.8, (then another £93 for clutch slave).

Re: oh hell...

Yep!

Sy gave me a number of this garage up in Bolton. He has his clutch done there for £125, and so did Rab (Or is in the making) - Who both have 1.6's.

I, has the 1.2, and for some reason is £5 cheaper. But not complaining.
