RIPSPEED - Donny South - Sunday 13th August

Ripspeed Donny South is one of the UK’s favourite modified and tuning shows attracting 20,000 visitors to North Weald Airfield, and with more than 1,000 Top Modified Motors on show.

The event is for anyone interested in modified metal and also a fantastic event in itself. It features the best clubs and cars from the South and also many from around the UK, a host of automotive exhibitors selling everything from spark plugs to full body kits, an ICE village (in car entertainment) with all the latest equipment being demonstrated, as well as a host of stunt and sprint strip action.

Having circled the globe in only 8 days in May this year, many of the drivers of the Gumball 3000 past and present are ready for their next challenge of seeing how their cars can do on the sprint strip at Donny South. Expect to see 20 - 30 supercars cars ranging from Ferrari F40's, Enzos and Lamborghinis battling it out on the strip with a Citroen 2cv and an Ice Cream van!

Are you up for taking your car on the Gumball 3000 in 2007..? Rumours are circulating that is going from London to Turkey, Syria and Lebanon. Founder and director of Gumball 3000 Maximillion Cooper will be attending the event for the whole day to tell all. One of the main attractions at the event is the ‘0-60 Sprint Strip’,an exclusive opportunity for members of the public to take their vehicles to the limits on a 0-60 thrash to find the quickest vehicles at the show. 3 timed runs up the strip costs just £15 and can be booked on the day. There are prizes for the quickest 4-cylinder and non 4-cylinder vehicles.

For clubs we have the ‘National Car Club Championship’ awards for the best clubs on display at the show. There’s £5,000 of prize money to share amongst the 3 winning clubs. Last year’s winners ‘X2C’ will be there to defend the title!

Another fantastic feature of the show is the ‘Ripspeed Live Action Arena’, which unlike many events is included in the price of admission
(unlike many shows we don’t charge extra!).

This years arena features top do-nutter ‘Terry Grant’ and his incredible stunt show, plus ‘Paul Swift’ son of the infamous Russ Swift, who has his very own show, featuring hand brake turns, 2-wheel driving, precision driving and much more, plus the ‘Xtreme Trials Display Team’, quite simply the best motorcycle trials display team in the UK, these guys can get their bikes anywhere! Also we have an exclusive display from ‘D1GB’ the Japanese Drifting championship recently launched over here. You can see the cars, meet the drivers and get details on the championship.

PLUS the now infamous ‘Castrol Car Cat Walk’ a road show which is touring Europe throughout 2006 finding the best cars from Europe, USA and the World, featuring the most awesome builds ever and some of the most incredible cars from the best modifiers in the world! It also features a grass routes contest for cars in the local area.

Cont/The event also hosts the ‘Autoglym Best in the South’ competition with the best cars in South competing for the 2nd successive year of the competition. Many of the cars entered have been built for the new show season and feature extreme modifications (we’ve even seen gold plated engine bays in the past!)

Tickets and booking:
Adult Tickets are available now for just £12.50 (£15 on the day), or our new Parent and Child tickets (1 Adult and 1 Child) are £16 (£20 on the day). Call our advance ticket line 0870 12 000 76 (24 hrs) to book. Or you can visit Ripspeed stores for exclusive ticket offers. Children are welcome at the show, however some of the entertainment at the event may be unsuitable and parental discretion is required).

Donny South was a good show last year.

I saw a few of the clubs made appearances but I didnt see FF there. Do I take it FF will have a stand this time round?

Hopefully! If we get enough people interested to show their cars,
We can start a list of anyone interested and then when I get the info we can move it forward.
