Any ideas please
2008 ducato in which the side door does not lock.Contacts ok getting power when button pressed can hear lock operating but door still not locked.Lock changed by Fiat garage and worked for one day.
Is this lock mechanical or is it electrical or how does it work at all.

I'd look closer at the contacts, test with door closed from inside.

I tested from inside with door closed.
Whats hapening exactly is that it doesnt lock when lock button is pressed it will lock if dead lock is activated i.e. double press of lock button.
Then on opening it will open with front doors or back doors because deadlock is removed when either set of doors are opened.

Back to Fiat and they tell me when lock button is pressed it actually opens lock.They hope relay is at fault if not they say new body computer.

My sliding door lock freezers every winter 2007 model.
once you open it it wont latch till door warms up..

Problem sorted on 4th visit.Wired incorrectly.
