Just been trying to fit a Westfalia dedicated wiring kit. Apparently the Doblo in common with many other Fiats now has a "multiplexed" wiring system which means one needs a specialised trailer control module which takes power from the vehicle fuse box.
This has led to a number of difficulties partly I think due to the fact that the kit has been designed for a left-hand drive Doblo and has therefore has cables only long enough to reach a fusebox on the left whereas mine is on the right!
Even more of a problem is the fact that Fiat seem to have changed the plug-in connector on the light clusters so the ones on the towing harness do not fit.
Anyone else found this a problem - mine is a March 06 Doblo.

I think there are some other users who have wired in directly to the lights on the older shaped Doblo's but not on the newer shaped ones as far as I know. Maybe someone more useful will be able to come along and help you ;)

Niall comes along.......

We had a towbar fitted on Mrs_G's Doblo a couple of years ago. We needed to tow our caravan just when our car neede repairs - it was quicker to fit a towbar to the van.

As far as I remember the fitter connected up to the rear lights, he went nowhere near the fuse box.
