oh hi to everyone on the forum

Hello there and welcome to the forum :D Glad you've found us!

Unfortunately I don't know your answer, but I will take a look on my Workshop Manual for you to see if I can find anything :) will let you know asap!

LUKHYGO!! :)

**EDIT** My user manual doesn't show where the bleed is for the Clutch System :(

Have you looked on the slave cylinder, on top of the gearbox? They are normaly there on FIATS.Was it an easy job?
Good Luck

thanks shall give that a try!

regarding the difficulty, yeah it was a difficult job, 2 people 4 1/2 hours and still not complete!!

would recommend using a specialised clutch centre (y)

Where the hydraulic pipe meets the slave cylinder on top of the gearbox, there is the blead nipple, it is directly under the battery pointing up. The system should not need bleading if it has nat beed disconected, the clucth is self adjusting on a hydraulic system.
Hope this helps

well many thanks for the info, now need to know where i can get a recon gearbox from:cry: seemingly my gearbox is shattered, no 4th gear teeth left, would be thankfull of any help again

Have a look on ebay, for Fiat Doblo, in all categories, a breakers yard is advertising a Doblo O/S Wing Mirror, they say they have all parts available? Give them a try.
Good Luck

well got new gearbox fitted, everything back in, but clutch does not seem to be engaging, or releasing as you may say so cant seem to get any gears, thats why i think it needs bled

anybody any ideas

many thanks

well today is the day, had to purchase a new master and slave clutch cylinder,
after trying to bleed clutch, discovered that seals in slave cylinder can reverse when removing and refitting, making it u/s.
then my master cylinder snapped, so hopefully after today all will be good shall let you boys know!

total so far

clutch plate, 2 cylinders , = 300
gearbox = recon from fiat 588.10
sundries = 30.00

bloody expensive!!! :yuck:

clutch had done 100,000

gearbox had knackered cause, let the clutch run to far!!

fitted all the stuff tried bleeding system, getting no air but clutch will still not release, im getting annoyed now!:bang:

anybody any ideas?

thanks

Again I've had a look through my manual and nothing. It does state the removal and replace process though, and the only thing I can think of is that it metions using a specialist clutch alignment and tourqe tool and it flags this as an important tool in the tool list.

Did you use one of these? I can paste you the process from the manual if you like in Word or Notepad if it's any help? Just let me know if you need me too :)

Just a quick suggestion, have you cleaned off the grease from the pressure plate (used to stop rusting) with white spirits as this will cause the clutch not to release as the disk will stick to the pressure plate! Also check the disk is the right way round (if it can be fitted two ways) (y)

having major problems with the clutch

STOP !!!!!

In my experience main dealers should be avoided. :nono:

There must be a reliable independant garage that can fix you Doblo near to you. My local garage charges £30 per hour and does an excellent job (y) - they have told me when things don't need doing even though it cost them lost work:worship: . My main dealer charges £85 per hour and will rip me off at the first chance they get.:tosser: :tosser: :tosser:

Ask around for recommendations from family/friends/workmates and find a garage you can trust.

If you go to the main dealer I will be praying for you.......and your bank manager.....

PS. Look in the miscelaneous/garages section on the forum.... you might find a recommended garage near you listed there....

i know main dealer are expensive, but as i run a taxi, its my livleyhood
and i have to get the thing back on the road asap!

every garage i phoned and asked about clutch problems, were rather in the dark as they had not a lot of dealings with doblo's, so this did not fill me with confidence!!

i just want to get the thing back asap i have already spent over a 1000, and it aint any better than when i started!

so here is hoping!!!
