We are now a Doblo-free zone. After suffering a series of breakdowns as described at https://www.fiatforum.com/doblo/432416-2012-doblo-mylife-1-4-16v-mystery-engine-fault.html , we decided we could no longer trust the vehicle as our long-term single family car. It has been repaired and then part-exchanged.

The P0504 brake switch A/B problem seems to be common to many Alfas, Fiats and Chryslers. I may contact VOSA and recommend a safety recall.

We have treated ourselves to a brand new Skoda Yeti. It lacks the boot capacity of the Doblo but otherwise it seems to be a very capable bit of kit.

I will keep an eye on the forum, but after 4 Fiats over the years, it will be a long time before I can envisage buying another.

I trust the dealer told you the paint falls off and they rust slightly slower than an 70's Datsun in a seaside town?
And their electrics make Renaults look well wired and reliable?
Turbo's apparently go pop quite regularly as well, apparently.
Front suspension seems to suffer from much the same wear and tear as a Doblo going by reviews.
But yer pays yer money and yer takes yer choice...
And it's Volkswagen Group, innit.
You can trust Volkswagen... (cough) ;)

You are full of joy, or perhaps schadenfreude!

I have no illusions; we will see how it goes!
