With more than 50,000 km and its warranty gone, I took my Doblò 1.16 16V to a private workshop.

They have changed a lot of parts, specially the brake pads. Since then, ABS is not working.

I have questioned the workshop owner several times and he answered me that only after some time the ABS would be working with the new braking pads? Is it true?

How can I guide and ask him to check in order to proove that some parts are not mounted properly or damaged?

To my understanding this is crap, but I will stand to be corrected.
The ABS sensor is not on the caliper and on the pad either.

the ABS sensor will me mounted next to the hub, it is not integral to the caliper or the pads.

Chances are they've either disconnected it, damaged the cable, or the sensor needs a clean.

yep tis bolloks, did they change any hubs? they might have fitted non abs ones

I can see its light on when switching the vehicle on, but braking is not so fast as it was before.

I think with such a heavy car, ABS is a must.

Also here in Brazil they are mounting now the top of line with a Brazilian motor 1.8 8V, which it is still worse.

They also seem to abandon the idea of producing a Doblò 4x4.

front abs semsors sence magnetic poles built in to the fron wheel bearing grease seal if the fron wheel bearing is replased the corect side must face inwards and non abs bearing do not have magnetic poles

have your front wheel bearings been replaced
