I know there is another area for this on the main forum, but its a Doblo specific observation from a soon to be owner.

I am looking to insure my first Doblo in a few months, and imagine my shock to discover ITS CHEAP !!!!!!!!!:slayer:

To be quoted just under £300 in the immediate M25 area with two other named drivers on a nearly new car made me try a few other websites thinking there was some mistake. There wasn't, as a good few came in at sensible prices.

For a giggle I put in the two French equivalents (you know the ones) and each came in over £150 a year dearer for my circumstances. ;)(n)

I am rapidly starting to see what people see in the Doblo :worship:

Shock is the word! I've just got my first quote for a full year for my 52 reg Doblo JTD ELX. My present insurer wants £558 TPF&T, and the cheapest on Compare the Market wants £495 TPF&T (n)

I'm 51 years old with 10 years NCB, ffs  Is it my postcode? Mine is an OL (Oldham)

What are others paying?

EDIT: Just got a quote of £420 fully comp with Hastings, which is cheaper than TPF&T! I don't get it

Seems strange. I mean I don't even live in a particular choice area, so I was surprised how cheap it was. Maybe its because in my case its a third car, I have a dull low risk job and I selected a low annual mileage ? Trouble is these websites are so clever, it just isn't possible to really guess what can cause strange results.

mines £312 full comp full rac cover full protection on no claims mind you i've added the mods (pics in members motors),but i'll be bartering soon ??
as £6 per wk is still a lot:confused:

£157! That's cheap! Was it on the telly saying that it was the greatest and safest place on earth?

£157? Bet you and Bullet are as happy as larry....couldn't be happier!

Me - £228 comp inc business on a 3 yr old 1.4 petrol. 40 yrs old. 4 yrs no claims (no claims ever but I was abroad until 4 yrs ago) living in a posh area of Hampshire. Through Gocompare....Esure.

Well, after the initial shock of receiving a quote of £558 tpf&t for my old 1.9 JTD ELX with my present insurer, I eventually got insured with Direct Line for £357 fully comp! They were the cheapest I could find anywhere, and by some margin. They're currently offering 12 months insurance for the price of 10.

Given the huge differences in all our quotes here, I can only guess it's down to postcode

I am sure you are right.

As a sequel to my original post, I actually got my insurance for about £250, as a few days after taking up the quote the insurer contacted me and asked if I would put one of my other cars on the same policy making it a dual car policy. My other car is a much higher group, but to get two newish cars insured for about £650 in total in the M25 area, I reckon has worked out okay.
