Anyone yet to see a new Doblo on the road?
They been on sale now for a little while and the only one I ever seen is in the showroom!

So, how many seen one?

Saw one some time last week. Can't remember where/when exactly, as I really wasn't paying a great deal of attention - it was either in Grimsby, Hull or on the A1 (that would have been Friday).

It was silver.

I have seen 2, one on the A1 near Hatfield, think it was a enterprize rental van and the other a couple of weeks ago at the top of the A361 at barnstable which looked to be a demonstrater.

I have one! 1.4 Eleganza in burgundy. Sadly I have only seen one other around here (North Birmingham) and one van.
When we bought it the salesman reckoned he had loads of interest in the new Doblo, but the lack of them on the road suggests otherwise.
I have had several people wanting to know what it is and having a look, including a couple in a car park who had just bought a Yeti and were amazed with the space in the Doblo.
It is nice being in such an 'exclusive' car that really does stand out, although the same was true in our old Doblo!

I have posted some feedback here:
https://www.fiatforum.com/doblo/216679-new-doblo-first-official-presentation-facts-3.html

Since then we have put a few more miles on, doing mid 30's mpg. We had a two week hol driving around down south a lot, with family, dog and bike! We fitted all our luggage under the parcel shelf at its lowest height, the dog sat on top of the shelf with a good view out of the window.
Nice and quiet on the motorway, much better than our old Doblo. The little petrol engine likes revs (typical Fiat), but is quiet. The ride is better than of old, drives like a giant Panda.
The interior is similar to old Doblo, we have the red trim which we really like. We also have the tomtom sat nav which is really smart.
I don't like the thick c pillar which creates a blind spot. The wing mirrors have built in indicators which may prove expensive if bashed. And the stop-start system can be slow to restart.
There is much to like though, electric rear windows, intermitent rear wiper (and comes on automatically if the front wiper is on and reverse is engaged), ipod connectivity works really well, and overall build quality is better. And we think it looks really cool as well!

Had my new Doblo 1.4 Eleganza for a couple of weeks now and am very impressed. The interior has lots that is familiar, but is very obviously all new. The seat has much more adjustment and is far more comfy, and is also much lower in the car, which seems odd compared to old Doblo!
New stereo is good, although speakers still lacking a little oomph. Oddly they are better when I use the i-pod, connectivity of which is very easy.
Tons of room inside, seems wider, taller yet seems smaller to drive as it handles so much better.
The stop-start system is disconcerting at first but I soon got used to it. Also disconterting is how the rear wiper comes on when the front wipers are on and you engage reverse. Plus the hill start thing which stops you rolling backwards feels very odd!
Really nice to drive, quieter, more stable, there is a clutch rest (hooray) and the only gripe is visibillity over my shoulder.
Ours isthe burgundy colour in a lot of the press shots and looks ace! And it has the red seats and red dash.
Overall we (wife, son, dog, me) are really impressed!

I have priced a lwb van with the 2l multijet with most of the options ticked and its coming in at £20,000 plus but i would imagine 16,000 with discount.
Too much for me so im looking at Vw Transporters about 18months to 2 years old and at least they hold their prices and have a ready market to sell them to the surfer dudes.

Shame really as the Doblo does take my fancy but alas i think my money is far safer with Vw even with well over 100,000 miles on when i get rid off. Cant ever see a doblo worth much with that kind of mileage on it.

interest was high (still is)...

Really?

So far this year we have only registered four new Doblo, all demonstrators.

I can count on the fingers of one hand how many test drives they have been out on, and as a result the only ones we have actually sold have been two of those demonstrators once they have reached 3-6 months old.

...but with the financial situation as it is it came out at the wrong time I guess?

I think FGA have scored a bit of an own-goal with this new model.

The previous car was 'cheap and cheerful' with no pretence and sold well because of it. The new car is too big and too expensive, especially when you consider what else (not van-based) is available from the competition for similar money.

I've seen one MPV Doblo, near to Fairford in Gloucestershire. Was silver or that champagne colour and i think it was a rental/courtesy car, had the Fiat Auto Fleet WP prefix on the registration number.

However, i've seen a good 10 or more of the new vans, a couple were Enterprise but most of the others are SSE Group (Scottish & Southern Energy) - they also seem to have a few new Fiorino's, which is good to see.

I do think a really good finance package & an TV ad campaign for the Doblo/Qubo would help alot. People just don't know they exist until they walk into a showroom, and even then (from experience) youre lucky if you see both models.

We were encouraged to buy ours because of the 0% finance being offered at the time. Although this offer wasn't well advertised, even the dealer didn't know about it, we had to tell him. In fact I don't think it was advertised at all, I only came across it when looking at the finance calculator on the Fiat website.

Maybe too expensive for most people to consider?
The 2000 looks like it could be a good caravan towing car?
Looks like theres no 'high top' version available like the previous model.

I dont think the towing weight is massively impressive, probably due to the payload the car can take.

I have seen a few in Italy but only 1 in the UK. Not sure if the Grand Punto running gear is upto the abuse of a Dob driver, I have seen 2 with rear wheels at a very odd angle.

I would like to think I would have a Doblo if I needed this kind of car, (i nearly do) but the new one although more capable doesnt have the attraction of the old. I also this the new Berlingo might be slightly better designed although less space.

Ex demo the prices seem far more reasonable and more as expected.

I am unsure how the new 5/7 seat Multipla range (if it gets built) will fit in as the price cant be much higher than the new Doblo and the refinement etc... can only be similar. Same problem with the Kangoo/Scenic and Berlingo/Picasso.

Only seen two so far. One in a dealers showroom and the other on the road, signwritten as a dealers parts delivery van.
