I suspect Fiat will join Citroen/Peugeot and share the same vehicle to replace the Berlingo/Partner and Doblo.

Expect the value of second hand Doblos to be very good - who wants an unreliable french van with a Fiat badge on it???

If they're going to replace the Doblo with a PSA euro-van with a Fiat badge on it, I think it will lose it's individuality appeal.
At the moment you have a choice of small vans. If you want more equipment maybe you'd go for the Partner or if you're not worried about capacity you'd go for the Kangoo. If you want maximum load space and the most powerful engine you go for the Doblo.
AFAIK the Ulysse wasn't the best seller from the 806/Synergie range even though it was the cheapest but the Multipla and Doblo are good sellers which shows that maybe we'd rather have a 'proper' Fiat.
At the moment, the Doblo is taking sales away from PSA because it's a good alternative and Peugeot/Citroen/Renault have got to do something about it.

Hi, Saw this post and thought NOOOOO!! surely not going to replace my beloved doblo with a french bag of spanners.

Luckily no! I have done some research about the turkish company TOFAS you currently build the Doblo for fiat.

Apparently the code name ( Minicargo) is going to be this shared peugeot,citroen fiat combi built in turkey Fiat will have a 3rd of the proposed units built, the french the rest. This vehicle will come in 3 guises and be placed BELOW the doblo as a smaller LCV.

Plans for the new Doblo 2008/2009 are currently in development with a 3 year development budget close to 300million euros!!!

The Doblo according to there stats out sells all other vans in its class last year so theres no way there getting rid of such a money spinner.

This is proof as november 2007 sees the minicargo go into production as another LCV apparently we all can't get enough of our van / mpv type vehicles.

I breathed a sye of releive as my 06 cargo sx 1.9 Mjet has been brilliant 15000 miles not a problem best vehicle ever owned.

If this is right (and it's a bloody good explanation) then it's fantastic news. This is a much smaller vehicle than the Dobbie and that would mean no seven seater. As I plan on replacing Desiree with another Dobbie at some time, another Family model would be appreciated.

Just another update the investement for the new doblo is 350 not 300 Million Euros by Tofas/fiat and will be built at the Bursa factory in Turkey.

Apparently both India and Poland were on the short list for the new doblo but Tofas won. tofas build cars and LCV under liscense for Fiat and will be hoping to increase its production to 360,000 units by end 2007 with the introduction of the Minicargo.

There net sales were up 18% on last year due to no small part played by the Doblo.

This vehicle as we know is great but still an unknown in the uk by most, on the continent however and around the world its a huge success. We are to image concious as Brits ( thats my feeling).

There can be no replacement for the Doblo. Ever.
