Re: Doblo Speeding Warning - IMPORTANT

I don't know what elastic band you use but I find it hard to stay under 70... powerful things Doblo's! :p

Tell me about it. ~Had some chav retard trying it on at a set of lights & the 1.9 jtd literally takes off, left the idiot standing. Mind you, there was just myself in the motor, no luggage or other weight & diesel engines are designed to shift heavy goods.
Took it for a spin along a dual carriageway the other night. As you say, difficult to hold them back - made even more so by the fact that there isn't a marker at 10, 30, 50, 70...mph.
Youngest discovered the windows in the very back open, I nearly $h1t myself when they slammed shut as I was tearing up the tarmac. Wondered what the heck was happening!

I keep getting the same problem, those hinged windows make a hell of a bang when the kids shut them, keep thinking I've hit something  .

I think this was air pressure/wind which shut them. I had both front windows down, both back windows open & the kids had the sliding windows open -- say this for the dobbie, it still drove fairly smoothly at speed with everything open.

Regarding the rear windows don't know about the new Doblo's but I'm pretty sure it says in the 'Owners Manual' not to drive with the 'very' rear 'pop out' windows open whilst moving... probably because of the wind pressure against quite a low strength mechanism. I've never tried so I'm not sure

Actually, Ozzie is correct, the hand book says not to drive with them open over AFAIR 30mph.
I think that the main reason could be that, unlike many of that style of window, they do not have a supporting frame, and there is a possibility of them shattering if they slam.

The hand book says nothing about when you should or shouldn't use the rear windows. I've driven at 90mph for long periods with them open and they've never slammed shut.
It does mention the rear wing window which is an optional flap in the roof at the back for carrying long objects (renault 4 van used to have this).
It says you shouldn't open it on the move and not to exceed 110kmh.
Maybe it's different on the pre-facelift model? I can't imagine it is as why would they fit a window for passengers that can only be opened when you're stationary?

That explains how I started a thread that I didn't know about:)

Just looking through my book and nothing is said about driving with the rear side windows open but the next part goes on to talk about the 'handy wing window on the roof', there is a warning not to exceed 110kph with it open. (as RichDoblo says)
