Windows 7, ps3 media server

Im trying to connect my windows 7 laptop as a media server for my ps3 but it cant seem to pick it up at all. It did do at one point but it wouldnt let me connect but now it just cant find it. Not sure what to do now, ive followed guides on the internet about setting it up but nothing is working. All the settings are the same as what they tell me to put but still nothing.

Confused.com/help?

are you using W7 media server,or the actual software PS3 media server?

ermmm lol im using the windows 7 software. what i dont get is why was it picking it up and now it just seems like there not even on the same network anymore

if wireless,can you temporarily use wired?

Im using wireless and theres no way i can use wired really, router is at the bottom of the house, im at the top in the loft lol saying that my signal is at 90%

i just mean for an attempt to see if it connects
if it connects then its a wireless issue
if not you can dig around further

Do you mean from laptop to ps3? lol sorry im a noob. It was connected before and i know it was on this laptop because it had the correct name from my laptop on my ps3

i mean the laptop to the router,and PS3 to the router
put the software o i linked to anyway and see what happens with that
Im hving similar issues but its a bridged connection through a PC

Simple.

Turn on your PS3.

Install PS3 media server.
http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/downloads/list

Scroll up and down on your PS3 untill you find PS3 media server(laptop).

Select and play your chosen vid, photo, music etc.
