Hi
I was just wondering if anyone on here could help me, I have been driving my cinquecento for just over two months now and recently I have noticed a banging/knocking noise coming from the rear of the car. It is mostly when I am going along the D-Roads at speed but I do hear it occaisionally when just pottering around town. Does anybody have any idea what the cause of this could be?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me,
Sarah

It started off as coming mainly from the passenger side from what I can remember, but now it seems to be both :S

Check to make sure the boot is secured when properly shut, the bumper & exhaust are properly located and that any panelling under the car is solidly located to what ever it should be.

Next get everything out of the the boot (inc spare wheel, parcel shelf, etc), doors, dash 'pits', basically clear the car of anything that isn't solidly bolted down. Lock all 3 of the 3pt seat belts and do the best you can to pull the lap belt tight around something.

Once that is done go for a drive that takes a route where the rattle usually occurs, about half way through the run if it's still rattling put the rear seats down and secure the seat belts properly. If it's still rattling well you're down to things out of the cabin... :(
