Hello,
Hope everyone is doing well.

I just registered at the forum after being incognito for some days reading up and collecting information.

I am from Portugal and am currently looking for a Cinquecento Sporting. Either yellow or red.
I really like cars and am looking for a fun car to be a project car.
Something I can work on with my son that is currently 6 and enjoy.
I always liked the cinquecento. The aesthetics are really appealing to me.
And from what I can tell, they are very reliable and here in Portugal, parts are not expensive.

With all that, my idea is do to a 1.2 16v engine swap.
My idea is to get a complete punto mk1 85 that are cheap here and use it as a donor car to take all I need.

But before putting my plan in motion, I have a few questions.
From what I gather, the punto is MPI and the Cinq SPI.
So some work has to be done.

If I have a full Punto MK1, do I need to sort extra parts?

In regard to the engine itself, does it bolt straight on the stock engine mounts?
Driveshafts are the stock Cinq ones?
Does the stock Cinq gearbox bolt straight up? Are the ratios too close for the 85 or engine?
Does the cooling system like the radiator and piping remains the cinq stock system?
What about peripherals like power steering pump and such?

Any other thing I am overlooking?
I also thought about the 1.4 16v Stilo engine, but I think it is a more difficult swap and getting a stilo donor is more expensive.
Also, the 1.4 might be heavier than the 1.2 and hurt the handling and balance of the chassis.

Can you please point me in the right direction?

Thanks!
Cheers!
