Well after a small (20min) customisation to my 40mm TB (filling the hole for the vacuum gauge) I fitted my TB again.

I cut my hand in exactly the same place pulling the same hose off as well.

After a bit of tinkering to get a decent idle (also allowing the engine to warm up) I took her out for a steady drive for about 5 miles, then hit it.

Definately more responsive, and sounds more impressive. A lot more grunt through every gear, (caught me by surprise in first and wheel span on one bit of road!)

Highly recommended.

Update: Major torque increase in 4th and 5th, in fact 3rd is a LOT more grunty now, able to pick up lower and climb faster.

Much much faster to 100mph (down that private road) Keeps up with a F*** focus 1.6 to about 90mph, which I was WAY impressed with

Why did you need to fill the hole?

The Tb arrives perfect to fit?

Or am I missing something? :D

Yeah they do, but fiat being how they are just did their own job to block the vacuum gauge hole on the TB. I grab an older TB without the hole filled in, so it drew in extra air after the fuel injector, made it stuttery to say the least!

So I filled the hole, and fitted it again and after a bit of tweaking the idel point on the throttle it drove great.

Getting better and better as ECU gets more accustomed to it as well

some have a blanked of breather pipe and some dont.on the cinq theres a pipe that loops over between 2 pipes. on others(like the one i got)it only has one sop you need to block/blank it

No offense matey, but you described that as well as I did when I posted the problem (terribly!)

I guess its not easy to describe

But lets just say that once you've done it, theres and extra pipe. . . block it!

i just put a screwin the pipe to block it. maybe im not such a drama queen ;)

Lol, bunged a bit of rubber on the end of it, then screwed that. almost totally airtight

My mate said it looked like i was giving head to my tb when I was testing how tight it was, now THATS dedication

I know what you are on about, mine was already blocked (y) I was just worrying for a moment that, that pipe may be the cause to my lag in power below 2500 rpm with my Tricker Tb but when I thought about it the lag started to happen even with my 32mm fitted many months back and its gradually getting worce so i blame it on the Lambda still!

after I swapped back mine happened with my 32mm (punto engine, so standard) for a while, EXACTLY the same, so I though F*** I've done something wrong.

But after about 10 miles it started to fade and by 100miles it was back to normal.

Weird

I'm ordering one of these and I was wondering if I will need to get the car set up afterwards or weather the ECU is capable of sorting itself out after a reset?

The ECU should sort itself out Nick :) But a RR session wouldn't hurt, would it? ;)

The ECU can sort itself just takes anything up to 100miles...

The first one I fitted seemed to make a huge difference from the off... :yum:

The Second one I fitted to my new Cinq seemed to take ages to adjust but then worked a treat after bout 80miles

A RR wouldn't do anything unless they have software to play with the ECU which I doubt they would..

All you would get is a torque and bhp figure that would be totally different after a few miles more
