I know the Punto turbo and Uno turbo brakes are a possible upgrade, but they are damn near impossible to find nowadays

What I'm looking for is another option, one that is fairly easy to source nowadays

I've got some Stilo 16v calipers, same bolt pattern, different bolt size (M12), but that's easy to get over
The new 500 abarth's come with some pretty huge brakes, that could squeeze under 15's, again these have the M12 bolts not the M10 of the Sei/Cinque

Anyone else got any ideas? Possibly with M10 bolts too eh!

The brakes from my Bravo HLX will be going on the front of my Cinquecento as they are the same as the conversion discs you used to need for the Punto GT conversion...



...I'm trying to decide if I should keep the single pair of GT calipers I have for the rear or make new plates and double caliper with a pneumatic handbrake.

 
That would be pointless, they have to be mechanical if you want to pass an mot.
I have 2pots on the back and adding some spot calipers to the plates, might just go back to the 'standard' rear disc mod
 
Hydraulic damn it! I was talking to someone else about air brakes on a Range Rover using the same compressor as the suspension.

Twin caliper so the standard ones would have the hand brake cable and the second pair would run from a hand operated cylinder like my Uno Rally car.

That makes more sense, didnt want to second guess you though

That would be fairsh cool on a rangey, could have air trailer brakes then eh ;)
 
nothing special - cheap indian blanks machined and sold as performance. made near me. They are prone to cracking between the holes
They are EBC discs.
All drilled discs are prone to crack, even expensive ones like Brembo...
I've been using MTEC grooved only discs for many years now on my Alfa GT jtd with very good results, and mind you, I do a lot of (very) high speed driving on no speed limit, German motorways...as I live close to the border
As I drive my car in salty winter conditions as well, the black anti corrosion finish is a big bonus as well, even after 3 winters the MTEC discs stay rustfree...!!
And all at a very affordable price, so I highly recommend them!

I sure they or not ebc blanks. They are cheap Indian blanks. I've done my homework on this. I would only use British cast discs for performance brakes such as Godspeed. A good standard disc with ds2500 would be better than mtec. You're right about cross drilling though. I'd only ever go dimpled and/or grooved.
 
no .you will need 14 inch wheels eg the abarth ones if you do upgrade mind and change the spare wheel too,,,ps you may stop faster by upgrading to better tyres rather than just brakes as the benefit over standard for day to day isnt that big a deal ..tyres are cheap tyres = crap stopping
