Hi

I'm wondering if this is normal or not, am not sure, Basically after a long journey or summot when i finally park and say my fan kicks in, as soon as i turn the car off it turns off even if its just kicked in but if i turn the car back on without it turning over (so all the lights on the dash are on) the fan comes back on. Just wondering if this is normal because all my other cars i've had the fan will continue to work even with the car turned off to cool it down after its kicked in.

Its not a problem because it works fine when the cars on, just wondering if its normal or not or if everyone elses does the same.

Hmm... my spi sei's fan stays on without the engine or ignition. but thats just mine so i dunno bout wether its 'normal' or not!

Hmmm well the rad was replaced just before i bought the car, maybe it wasn't wired up right. It works perfectly fine when the cars on, i.e comes on when the car gets too hot etc... but its just strange as soon as i turn the car off it cuts power to it, i thought it was odd, mainly coz my cinq's always stayed on as did it on other cars i've owned. Anyone any ideas whats happened or how to sort it. Like i said its not a major issue but i'd rather sort it than leave it.

dont panic satty, its normal, fiat in their wisdom rewird up the mpi sei fan todo this cus everything on them is dependant on ignition being on!!!

just let car run till fan goes off then turn the car off ;)

ah that will explain it then, mines a late Spi (2000) which is why it does this, compared to lorddeans who must have a pre2000 spi seicento.

strange thing for fiat to do, makes no sense.

mines the last of the spi's and it goes off when the ignition goes off... tho if you parked up and turned it off surely the car will cool down all on its own?

This is strange, what i really need is someone else who has a V -reg sporting like mine to tell me if theres does stay on or not. But if all the new MPi ones dont then i cant really complain i guess. Strange.

Mine is a 2000 (April W plate before personalised plate) SPI Sporting, mine goes off if the ignition is off. Comes back on if I turn ignition on. I generally do as MintySport said, let it run untill the fan goes off.

Cool, i guess its normal then. Thanks guys, thats cleared that up, just in case someone needs to know this in the future.

pre 2000 its not powered by the ignition being on, 2000> it is.

everything apart from the bludy stereo (forgets to switch it off) and yeh my fan turns off with ignition but never get back in it soon enough to find out if it comes back on
