As in the title, my headlights are super low.
The reflector motors work, and they do move the headlights, but even on zero its very hard to drive around at night.
This was after taking a bulb out to check fitting to buy new ones?
Please help!

Are you sure you clipped the lamps back in properly, i've had this on other cars in the past when i haven't seated them properly before clipping them into place.

A|s above, if it was fine before and now it isn't ... that's what i'd check.

the adjuster is the plastic hex above the remote cable be careful it may be frozen

Having changed bulbs today, i reckon you pushed the light unit off the top adjuster which basically points them at the floor.

Go back in behind the light and gently pull the top of the metal bracket towards the windscreen and you'll feel a little 'click' as it locates the headlight onto the adjuster again.

The bit you need to get hold of is the bit of metal that the bulb retaining pins clip into. You can see it in the image below, where the red line runs almost directly over it.

as well as the hex flat and crusiform concentric adjuster there is a stud with a black knob that may be frozen and need plus gas A that also adjusts vertically. it is on thr side remote from hex.

don't use force, well pliers then, in place of plus gas

They both interact side ways as well as vertical to a degree

If all that fails remove lamp & pad out two of the three mounts with washers.

Yep they have electric reflector motors adjustable via wheel on dash but it doesn't do anything. When i adjust the height via adjuster on dash, motors do move but not much happening.
Bulbs were not taken out, just fitting checked via female plug that goes onto bulbs :)

Weird ... almost sounds like you've pulled the reflectors off the mounts in more than one place ... either that or maybe the motors are no longer attached to the reflectors.

Think you're going to have to look a little closer at the problem and see how much movement you have on the reflectors and if they're loose then work out from that where the problem is.

the electric motor actuated from the dash is in common with the hex adjuster but the hex adjuster can reach the end of the travel in either direction.

there used to be a guide for refurbishing the heads.

from memory undo the clips securing the 'glass' to body

apply heat from hair dryer locally to seal compressed by above clips until you can separate the outer from the glass

the guide then bodged the three supports for the reflector one is attached to the motor one to the studding with black plastic knob and one at bottom is a fixed pivot. (the studding is the second adjuster)

the failure is you have little bits of white plastic at bottom of headlight which used to be the pivots of the three locators/supports which are easy to break.

sorry never looked at the text for bodge

sorry this is phone and won't do searches

Left one sorted. Just needed clipping back in and a bit of adjustment via hex on top. The right one however.... At least i found the source of the problem. So simple, why didn't I check beforeImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1382290957.979745.jpg
